GÓMS is an artist duo with two very different artists, Margeir Dire & Georg Óskar. The cooperation began in a shared workingspace "Studio Time Machine" in 2008. Despite our differences we have the same idea of what good art is and how to create it. We paint at the same time, over each other again and again, until we get a perfect balance and the work looks like by one crazy person. A visual orgy that leaves no one unsatisfied.

A word about GÓMS from Stefán Þór:

That guy GÓMS is pretty weird, huh?

His view of things seems to constantly shift around, kind of like he’s rolling through life at a tremendous speed, unable to really take in the scenery, yet be aware of it somehow. His subconscious does all the work.

There is no containing him, you really have to treat him like a baby, even though he is clearly not one, in fact he is quite mature in his ways. He goes on artistic rampages, like an alcoholic bender, but with art instead of booze. Nothing counts as being too small to deal with, every detail matters, the big picture will sort itself out if the details are in check.

Chaos finds a place eventually, the movement slows down and the images start to blend together into one final point, like wax in a lava lamp that has been permanently turned off. Like the universe. The universe seen through the eyes of GÓMS is a huge collection of details that others don’t seem to notice. Kind of how it’s hard to notice GÓMS being made up of two very different persons.
